Our inspiration this week comes from Tara Cousineau.

We all have a natural capacity to cultivate empathy, love,

generosity, kindness, and joy.

       Tara Cousineau

Tara's article, "How to Be a Kindness Magnet,” begins with her observing her 12-year-old daughter attracting wildlife in the backyard by offering them food. Her kindness was the magnet, and the gift to her was the delight of being in kinship with her wild neighbors.

Tara’s message is “Sometimes we take for granted our own generosity or that of others. Take a moment to acknowledge the tender, thoughtful, and kind moments and let them imprint in your brain.

If you make it a habit of asking yourself every day “How did kindness show up for me today?” then you’re more likely to see positivity, health, and happiness thrive.”

She talks about ways to Cultivate kindfulness, which lead us to becoming kindness magnets.

In her book, "The Kindness Cure," Tara says it's time for a kindness revolution. She draws on cutting-edge research in psychology and neuroscience to show how simple practices of kindness—for ourselves, for others, and for our world—can dissolve our feelings of fear and indifference, and open us up to a life of profound happiness.

Tara Cousineau is a clinical psychologist, researcher, and a parent of two teenage girls in Boston, MA. Her expertise spans child and adolescent health, women’s health, mind-body medicine, the science of happiness, and the use of innovative technologies to promote positive coping and wellbeing. As a social entrepreneur, she is the founder of BodiMojo, a health communications company that develops empowerment and wellness tools for youth.

We can all become kindness magnets. We begin with our own acts of kindness. Since you are reading this, I know you are a kind person. One of the joys of walking the kindness path is discovering new ways of expanding our kindness practice.

We hope that Tara's ideas will inspire you.
